Our academy, founded in the late 90s by the Maestro Giovanni Polistena, is committed to preserving and sharing the authentic techniques of Italian plaster craftsmanship. Nestled in the heart of the Venice region, where Marmorino originates and flourished, we’re not just a school; we’re custodians of an age-old heritage.
Initially, our focus was solely on Venetian plaster courses. Yet, over the last decade, our curriculum has expanded to encompass a variety of polished and textured finishes, both traditional and contemporary. Despite this growth, our heart remains with lime-based decorative plasters, which reflect our notion of quality and beauty.
Our teachers are master craftsmen with extensive experience in both the application of plasters and in mentoring the next generation of artisans. These masters of Venetian plasters have not only instructed within the walls of our own Academy of Decorative Plastering but have also been sought after for their expertise by the prestigious Scuola di Restauro in Vicenza.
Their influence extends beyond Italy, having been entrusted with a ten-year educational program at the Hamlet School of Hillerød in Denmark and leading workshops across Denmark and in the United Kingdom.
At Stucco Italiano, you will embark on an educational journey that delves deep into the world of decorative plastering courses. From the lustrous depth of Marmorino to the charm of Tadelakt, from the marvel of Scagliola to seamless Venetian Terrazzo and beyond, our courses are designed to equip you with a deep understanding of the materials and authentic skills.
We invite you to explore our courses and join a community passionate about the artistry of Italian lime-based plasters. Connect with us to uncover the secrets of authentic Venetian plastering and carry forward a legacy of quality and beauty.
