ONE CLASS, MULTIPLE DECORATIVE TECHNIQUESArt in Plaster Course

▶︎ Marbling, Scagliola, Stencil, Foil and Tadelakt

This distinctive course brings together four teachers from around the world, each a specialist in their own unique plastering technique. The class offers a diverse array of both modern and classic artistic decorative techniques using lime-based plasters. Participants will have the opportunity to delve into:

1. Moroccan Tadelakt: application on both flat and curved surfaces using time-honored tools like the flat polishing stone. This session is led by Michael Sarian, who brings expertise in the authentic Moroccan technique.
2. Modern Scagliola: Discover the art of Scagliola with a contemporary twist. This version, known as Scagliola Plus, is thinner, quicker to apply, and harder than traditional gypsum-based materials. Scagliola expert Željko Babić guides participants through the nuances of this method.
3. Stencils and Foil Techniques: Cait Whitson and Gibson Donaldson introduce a creative fusion of stencils and foil with decorative paints and plasters in mixed-media projects. This approach allows for innovative textural and visual effects in plasterwork.
4. Marbling on Marmorino: This technique mimics the intricate patterns of real marble on Marmorino (Venetian Plaster) surfaces. Cait Whitson and Željko Babić will teach participants how to draw marble veins to achieve stunningly lifelike results.

Practice is done on vertical and horizontal boards.
