The decorative paints of this line, which can be easily applied by spalter, spray or trowel, result in a final rendering of style and elegance. Among these we find solutions for all types of contexts: highly decorative finishes for modern ambiences such as Liberty and Kristalium, or artistic finishes such as Supernova. Other solutions are precious, such as Liquid metal; delicate, as are Dune and Nappa, or aggressive, like Oxide metal.
Common denominators of all these finishes are ease of application and durability, but also a generous decorative contribution. They are all finishes that leave freedom of expression and of imagination to the decorator or interior designer.
The primers recommended in the decorative paints product-pages are intended for an ideal substrate such as new plaster / washable paint / gypsum / plasterboard-coated walls. Other types of substrate, such as old walls, tiled or marble surfaces will need a different substrate treatment. Please refer to the instructions in the TDS.
Yes, all Stucco Italiano’s decorative paints are extremely easy to apply. Simply apply them with a brush or roller as you would apply normal paint. However, to obtain some particular special effects, you might need some practice.
Our Italian Lime Paint (also known as whitewash or limewash) can be applied both on interior and exterior walls.
Our Italian lime paint is partially washable, however, to make it completely washable, one coat of Marseille Soap or of Hydrocalce is required.
Not all are washable, but most of them are. Specifically, the following decorative paints are completely washable: SuperNova, Liquid Metal and Dune Suede. Other paints, like Nappa, need a protective treatment – such as Stucco Italiano’s Soft Touch – to become washable.
Most of the decorative paints can be applied exclusively to interior walls. However, some, such Lime Paint, can be applied also to exteriors.
Whitewash lime paint is a type of paint made from slaked lime. Contrarily to modern acrylic paints, whitewash lime paint is highly breathable, naturally antimould and mildly antibacterial. Furthermore, Whitewash lime paint relies on being drawn into a substrate, unlike a modern paint that adheres to the surface, creating a film. Limewash does not create a film, but becomes one with the underlying wall.
